PMC is a British loudspeaker manufacturer whose studio monitors are used daily at Abbey Road Studios, the BBC, Metropolis Studios, and hundreds of leading recording and mastering facilities worldwide. When artists, producers, and engineers need to hear exactly what is in a recording without colouration or compromise, PMC is the reference they trust. The CI Range brings that same engineering philosophy to custom installation, offering in ceiling and in wall speakers that deliver studio quality audio within the architectural constraints of residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors.

Cache distributes the full PMC CI Range to trade customers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. We hold stock in our Dubai warehouse and provide technical support, system design guidance, and project level pricing for integrators specifying PMC into residential and commercial audio systems. Whether the project calls for a stereo pair in a living room ceiling, a full surround system in a dedicated cinema, or distributed audio across a boutique hotel, our team can advise on model selection, amplifier pairing, and layout optimisation. Advanced Transmission Line technology

The defining technical feature of PMC loudspeakers is their proprietary Advanced Transmission Line bass loading, a technology that has been central to every PMC product since the company was founded in 1991. Most in ceiling and in wall speakers use a simple sealed or ported enclosure behind the driver. Sealed enclosures limit low frequency extension and require larger drivers or more amplifier power to produce meaningful bass. Ported designs can extend bass response but often introduce port turbulence, chuffing noise, and a resonant peak that colours the sound with an unnatural emphasis at a single frequency.

ATL works differently. The driver is loaded by a carefully calculated transmission line, a precisely tuned pathway packed with absorbent damping material that allows the rear wave energy from the driver to be harnessed and released in phase with the front output. This extends usable bass response significantly below what the driver size would normally allow, while maintaining tight, controlled low frequency behaviour with no port noise and no resonant colouration. The result is a compact architectural speaker that produces bass weight and definition that sounds like it belongs in a much larger cabinet.

For integrators, this means fewer compromises when specifying speakers for rooms where a subwoofer may not be practical or desirable. A pair of PMC CI ceiling speakers in a kitchen, bedroom, or living area delivers a full, satisfying frequency range without needing a separate bass module hidden in a cupboard or mounted under a sofa.

Qikfire mounting system

Installation speed matters on any project, but it matters most on the jobs where ceiling access is limited, the decorator is waiting, and the client wants the house finished by Thursday. PMC designed the Qikfire mounting system specifically to address the practical realities of architectural speaker installation. Each CI speaker uses a spring loaded clamp mechanism that grips the ceiling or wall board from behind when the speaker is pushed into position. There are no separate mounting brackets to preinstall, no screws to drive into the ceiling from awkward angles, and no specialised tools required.

The process is straightforward. Cut the hole using the supplied template, pull the speaker cable through, make the connection, push the speaker into the opening, and the Qikfire clamps lock it into place. For a full Atmos ceiling array of four or six height speakers, this system saves a meaningful amount of time compared to bracket mounted alternatives. On large residential projects where dozens of speakers are being installed across multiple zones, the cumulative time saving is substantial.

Stereo, surround, and immersive audio applications

The PMC CI Range includes models optimised for different roles within an audio system. In ceiling models handle distributed music zones, stereo pairs, and Dolby Atmos overhead channels. In wall models provide the directional focus needed for front left, centre, and right positions in a home cinema, as well as surround channels where wall mounting is preferable to ceiling placement.

Critically, all models in the CI Range share the same ATL loaded engineering philosophy and tonal character. This means a system built entirely from PMC CI speakers delivers consistent timbral matching across every channel. In a multichannel cinema or immersive audio system, this consistency is essential. When dialogue pans from the centre channel to a surround, or an Atmos object moves from the screen to directly overhead, the listener should not hear a change in speaker character. PMC achieves this by designing the CI Range as a coherent family rather than a collection of unrelated models with different driver technologies and crossover topologies.

The studio connection

There is a practical reason why PMC's studio heritage matters for residential audio. When a recording is mixed and mastered on PMC monitors, the engineer is making decisions about tonal balance, spatial positioning, reverb tails, dynamic range, and low frequency content based on what they hear through those speakers. If the playback system at home uses speakers with a fundamentally different sonic signature, the listener hears an interpretation of the recording rather than the recording itself.

By specifying PMC CI speakers, integrators are placing their clients closer to what the artist and engineer intended. This is not a subjective preference or a marketing position. It is a direct consequence of using loudspeakers that share their engineering DNA with the monitors used to create the content. For clients who care about music quality, who have invested in lossless streaming services or vinyl playback systems, and who expect their home audio to deliver a genuine emotional connection with the material, PMC is one of very few architectural speaker brands that can make this claim with credibility.

Where PMC CI fits in the market

The custom installation speaker market is crowded with options at every price point. At the lower end, commodity ceiling speakers serve a functional purpose but offer limited bass extension, inconsistent dispersion, and a compressed, lifeless sound quality that does nothing to justify the investment in quality source equipment and amplification. At the higher end, bespoke architectural solutions from specialist manufacturers can deliver exceptional results but often at price points that are difficult to justify outside flagship projects.

PMC CI occupies a position that is genuinely useful for integrators. The performance level is a clear and audible step above mainstream architectural speakers, the ATL bass technology solves real problems in rooms where subwoofers are impractical, and the Qikfire mounting system respects the installer's time. The price point is accessible enough to specify confidently on premium residential projects without requiring a separate conversation about loudspeaker budgets.
