HDMI distribution and matrix switching
At the core of most AV system designs is the need to route video and audio sources to multiple displays. CYP manufactures a comprehensive range of HDMI splitters and matrix switchers covering every common configuration from simple one input to two output splits through to large format matrices handling eight or more sources across eight or more displays. Their matrix switchers support 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 video, HDR passthrough in all major formats, HDCP 2.3 content protection, and simultaneous audio de embedding for independent zone audio feeds.
For residential projects, a CYP matrix switcher allows a home cinema processor, media player, gaming console, and satellite receiver to be shared across the cinema room, living room, bedroom, and outdoor display without duplicating source equipment. In commercial environments, the same matrix architecture distributes a single presentation source or digital signage feed across meeting rooms, lobby displays, and overflow areas. CYP matrices are controllable via front panel, IR, RS232, and TCP/IP, integrating directly with Control4, Crestron, Savant, RTI, and other automation platforms without custom driver development.
HDBaseT signal extension
Running HDMI cable beyond 10 to 15 metres introduces signal degradation, handshake failures, and compatibility issues that plague installations relying on passive cables or low quality active solutions. CYP's HDBaseT extender range solves this by converting HDMI signals for transmission over standard Cat6 or Cat6A cable at distances up to 100 metres with zero visible latency and full support for 4K video, embedded audio, IR control passback, RS232 passthrough, and Power over Cable for remote receiver units.
This is the technology that makes distributed video practical in larger residences, villas, hotels, and commercial buildings. A single Cat cable run from the equipment rack to a remote display location replaces the need for expensive, inflexible long run HDMI cables. For integrators, HDBaseT simplifies cable infrastructure, reduces fault finding time, and uses the same Cat cable already being installed for data and control networks. CYP manufactures HDBaseT solutions as standalone extender sets, as integrated outputs on their matrix switchers, and as part of their larger AV over IP ecosystem.
AV over IP for scalable distribution
For projects that outgrow the fixed input and output count of a traditional matrix switcher, CYP's AV over IP platform provides virtually unlimited scalability across standard network infrastructure. Each source is connected to a transmitter unit and each display to a receiver unit, with video, audio, and control signals distributed across a managed network switch. Adding another display to the system means adding another receiver and a network cable, not replacing the entire matrix.
CYP's AV over IP solutions support 4K video distribution with visually lossless compression, multicast routing for one to many distribution, and independent audio zone management. This makes the platform suitable for large residential installations with 20 or more display endpoints, hotel room entertainment systems, corporate campuses, university lecture theatres, and any environment where the number of sources and displays may change over time. The system is managed through CYP's control software or via API integration with third party automation platforms.
Audio conversion and Dante integration
Beyond video, CYP manufactures a broad range of audio management products including analogue to digital converters, digital to analogue converters, audio matrix switchers, audio extractors and embedders, and Dante networked audio interfaces. Their Dante enabled products allow integrators to bridge traditional analogue and digital audio systems with Dante networked audio infrastructure, which is increasingly specified in commercial, hospitality, and high end residential projects where audio distribution needs to cover large areas with multiple independent zones.
For residential integrators, CYP audio extractors are the practical tool for pulling audio from HDMI sources to feed a separate multiroom audio system or a dedicated amplifier for an adjacent zone. In commercial settings, CYP's Dante interfaces connect legacy audio equipment to modern networked audio architectures without replacing existing hardware.
Format conversion and signal management
Not every device in an AV system speaks the same language. Legacy equipment with composite, component, or VGA outputs needs to coexist with modern 4K HDMI sources. CYP manufactures a full range of format converters and scalers that bridge these gaps, converting between HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, composite, component, SDI, and analogue audio formats. Their scaler products handle resolution conversion, aspect ratio management, and image adjustment for installations where source and display resolutions do not match natively.
These products may not be the headline items on a specification sheet, but they are the components that prevent last minute surprises during commissioning. The client who wants their legacy Blu ray player connected alongside a modern media server, the boardroom where an older laptop needs to present on a new commercial display, the broadcast facility where SDI and HDMI workflows converge: CYP has a conversion product for each of these scenarios, engineered for reliable unattended operation in permanent installations.
Control and integration
Every CYP product designed for professional installation includes control interfaces appropriate to its role in the system. Matrix switchers and AV over IP platforms offer TCP/IP, RS232, and IR control. Extenders support IR passback and RS232 tunnelling for controlling remote equipment. CYP publishes control protocols and provides driver support for major automation platforms, ensuring that their products integrate cleanly into managed systems without requiring workarounds or custom programming.
For integrators who standardise on CYP across their projects, this consistency in control architecture reduces the learning curve for commissioning engineers, simplifies documentation, and means that spare units can be swapped in without reconfiguring the control system from scratch.
